This is a simple recipe for Spicy Crab Salad that I use as a side in my homemade Poke Bowls.  You use Kani Kamaboko which are imitation crab sticks made from fish, you’ve probably had these before in California Rolls or other American style sushi rolls. You can find this at your local Japanese or Korean markets, check the refrigerated section or often times it’s in the freezer area.

Ingredients

  • 8 oz Imitation Crab Sticks (kani kamaboko)
  • ¼ Cup Mayonnaise, I used Kewpie Mayo
  • 1 Teaspoon Sriracha Sauce

Method

  • 1)

If the crab sticks are frozen, defrost before using. Cut them into 1 inch pieces (or smaller if you prefer) and shred them into thin strips, you can just pull them apart with your hands. Lightly dab with a paper towel to absorb excess moisture.

  • 2)

In a bowl, add ¼ Cup Mayo, 1 Teaspoon Sriracha Sauce, stir to combine, then add the shredded crab sticks. Toss to combine well, taste and add more Mayonnaise or Sriracha if you prefer. Enjoy!
