This is how I made Korean BBQ at home with products that I gathered from Trader Joe’s – it was pretty amazing to have this wonderful meal at home with very little prep work and my kids always have a lot of fun grilling at the table.

How to have Korean BBQ at Home with Trader Joe’s Products

Ingredients

PROTEIN IDEAS:

  • Trader Joe’s Korean Style Short Ribs
  • Trader Joe’s Shaved Beef Steak
  • Frozen Shrimp, defrosted, seasoned with salt and pepper
  • Trader Joe’s BBQ Cut Salmon, cut into 1inx2in portions seasoned with salt and pepper

VEGETABLES:

  • Onion, sliced
  • Mushrooms, sliced in half
  • Zucchini, sliced thin

SIDE DISHES

  • Trader Joe’s Kimchi
  • Trader Joe’s Scallion Pancakes
  • Trader Joe’s Jicama Wraps
  • Salad Mix with Trader Joe’s Carrot Ginger Miso Dressing
  • Jalapeños, sliced thin
  • Garlic Cloves, sliced thin
  • Potato Salad, recipe here
  • Green Leaf Lettuce for wraps
  • Rice

DIPPING SAUCES

  • Sesame Oil Dip, Mix 1 Tablespoon Sesame Oil mixed with ¼ Teaspoon Salt + ¼ Teaspoon Black Pepper
  • Soy Sauce Dip, Mix 1 Tablespoon Soy Sauce, 1 Teaspoons Rice Vinegar, 1 Tablespoon Water, 2 Teaspoons Sugar

Method

  • 1)

    You can use a standard electric griddle or an indoor BBQ grill. Use avocado oil cooking spray or brush a thin coating of oil on the griddle. Pre-heat grill to about 350°F and grill meat and veggies. You may need to adjust the temp according to your preference.

  • 2)

    Dip the grilled meat in sesame or soy sauce dip and enjoy with side dishes. Use Jicama Wraps or Green Leaf Lettuce to make wraps, place the meat along with with thin slices of jalapeño and garlic with some ssamjang.
