I’ve been a passholder at Disneyland for my entire adulthood, now that I’m in Austin, it’s been hard living far away from Disneyland. I was feeling homesick and missing Disneyland & Disney World, so I made these Mickey Mouse Rice Krispy Treats to enjoy a little bit of the parks at home. This is the basic design that you’ll find at any of the Disney parks, you can use this recipe as a starting point and decorate any way you’d like. Watch my 30-second Instagram video here
You’ll need a large Mickey Mouse Cutter (purchase here) You’ll be able to cut out 6 Mickey shapes from a 13×9 inch pan
2 Cups of Red Candy Melts is more than you’ll need to coat the rice krispie treats, but you need that amount to be able to dip them. Pour any leftover candy melts onto parchment paper and once it’s set, you can break it up and save it to use later. If the candy melts seem to thick, add about 1 Teaspoon of Vegetable Shortening to thin it out.
