This is a quick and simple way to make Madeleines (petite French butter cakes) using Trader Joe’s Vanilla Cake Mix. The flavor and texture are quite nice, especially for a madeleine batter that’s ready in 5 minutes – they are buttery, have a nice caramelized crust & fluffy interior.
The recipe makes about 24 standard size madeleines, this USA Pan for Madeleines bakes 16 Madeleines at once, just bake a second batch when the first batch is done baking.

You don’t get the signature hump with this quick method, but they are still beautiful and delicious.
